Mental Health Systems

Warrior spirit; servant hearts. Mental Health Systems (MHS) provides counseling and wellness services for the treatment and recovery of mental health issues, substance abuse and more. Simply put – they improve lives. MJE captured some of these stories of recovery and lives changed for the better in both short form and long form video.

Results: The documentary aired on California cable and network stations; on the newly redesigned mhsinc.org website, YouTube and at fund-raising events. With their fresh, re-branded look and supporting communications tools, MHS invited the community to a fund-raising premiere of "Hope in Action." Compelling promotional materials led to a quick sellout of this and other fundraising events.

United Port of San Diego

The Big Bay

San Diego is a remarkable testament to how a city's history, natural beauty and resources can integrate with tourism, business, attractions and transportation, to create a magical place to live and work. MJE produced "There's No Place Like This on Earth" — a promotional video tying the city's personality, lifestyle and economic vitality to the Big Bay®, San Diego's Waterfront. Produced by the Port of San Diego in cooperation with San Diego International Airport, the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, the video shines a light on our city's bright economic future and growing tourism market.

Results: The video was presented to Disney Cruise Lines and was effective in bringing representatives back to San Diego for ongoing discussion on business development prospects.

Awards: Telly Silver Award for Film/Video — Travel/Tourism; MarCom Creative Platinum Award

For the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, building the future of air passenger transportation has been an ongoing process. From the first terminal that opened in 1928 to the complete expansion of today's San Diego International Airport, it has been important to inform and educate elected officials, airport stakeholders and the community about the Authority's master plan for San Diego International Airport. MJE employed an artist rendering as 3-D imaging to illustrate the project's scope and vision. A complimentary 3-D video showcases the expansion of the San Diego Convention Center and redevelopment of nearby venues.

Results: The two pieces work together in a visually striking way to illustrate how the airport and its proximity to downtown and the harbor is critical to San Diego's appeal as a destination for commerce, tourism, the cruise industry, conventions and major events.

USS Midway Museum

USS Midway Museum

The USS Midway Museum is fast-becoming the West Coast's living symbol of freedom. Museum visitors get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to simulate life aboard aircraft carriers, as well as explore more than 60 exhibits with a collection of 25 restored aircraft on board. MJE thoroughly audited the Midway's old website for areas of improvement and used web analytics to help structure the new site and create simple paths for users to access information.

Results: Trip Advisor has named the Midway Museum the number-one attraction in San Diego. Their website now receives more than 47,000 unique visitors a month with an average time spent on site of three and a half minutes. Improved navigation and increased traffic has helped drive attendance at the attraction to an all-time high of 875,000.
